Who you are buying from

Alder & Copper is a trading name of FounderWise, LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Delaware, United States (file number 10642038), with a business address at 169 Madison Ave, STE 55606, New York, NY 10016, United States. Ordering

When you place an order you make an offer to buy. We accept it when we send the dispatch confirmation. If we cannot fulfil an order, because a piece turns out to be unavailable at the workshop or a price was listed in error, we tell you and refund you in full before anything ships.

Prices are in US dollars, and the price you pay is the price shown at checkout. We currently sell and ship within the United States only.

Shipping

Most pieces ship to you directly from the workshop or distributor that makes or stocks them. Every product page states the country the piece ships from and the expected delivery window. Estimates are estimates; carriers have bad weeks. If a parcel is genuinely lost, we replace it or refund it.

What we say about the products, and what we will not say

We publish a provenance label on every product: Verified when we have seen documentation, Vendor-attested when the maker has told us, and Unknown when we do not know. We would rather tell you Unknown than dress it up.

Pieces described as decorative are decorative. In particular, unlined copper and brass must not be used for brewing or holding coffee or any other acidic drink, because copper leaches into liquids below roughly pH 6. Where an interior lining is documented, the product page says so. Where it is not, the piece is sold for display, and using it for food or drink is at your own risk.

Returns

Covered in full in our Refund policy. The short version: 30 days, unused, email first.

Warranties and liability

Machines carry their manufacturer's warranty, and we help you file claims under it. Beyond that, and beyond the rights consumer law gives you which no page like this can take away, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

The site and the journal

The content on alderandcopper.com, including the journal, belongs to us. Quote it with attribution; do not republish it wholesale. Journal articles are information based on our own use and testing, not professional advice.

Changes, and which version applies

We update these terms occasionally, and the date at the top tells you when we last did. The version live when you place an order is the version that applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, and disputes belong to the courts there, except where consumer law in your state lets you bring them closer to home.
