Shipping policy

The short version. We ship within the United States only. Shipping is a flat $8 per order, free over $70, as of August 2026. Most orders arrive 5 to 17 business days after you place them.

Where we ship

The United States only. Our suppliers are US-based, and most of them either will not ship abroad or quote a price that costs more than the piece. Rather than take an order we cannot fill honestly, or leave you with an unexpected customs bill on delivery, we do not sell outside the United States.

What it costs

A flat $8 per order, whatever is in it. Free on orders over $70. Prices are in US dollars and correct as of August 2026.

How long it takes

Handling takes 1 to 3 business days, which is the time between your order reaching the maker and the parcel leaving them. Transit takes a further 4 to 14 business days. That is 5 to 17 business days in total.

Those are estimates, not promises. Carriers have bad weeks and workshops have busy ones.

Why it takes that long, and why parcels can arrive separately

Most pieces ship to you directly from the workshop or distributor that makes or stocks them, rather than from a warehouse we own. One parcel from one maker is straightforward. An order containing pieces from two makers becomes two parcels, dispatched separately and arriving on different days. You still pay shipping only once.

Every product page states where the piece ships from and the expected delivery window for that piece.

Tracking

You get a dispatch confirmation by email when the parcel leaves, with tracking where the carrier provides it. A multi-parcel order produces a confirmation per parcel.

If a parcel is late, lost or damaged

Write to hello@alderandcopper.com with your order number. If a parcel is genuinely lost we replace it or refund it in full, shipping included. If it arrives damaged, tell us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the piece and the packaging, and choose a replacement or a full refund. Do not post a broken thing back before writing to us.

Returns

Covered in the Refund policy. The short version is 30 days from delivery, unused, and email us first so you get the right return address.
